
Managing Director
Darren is committed to delivering first class medical data and clinical decision support to improve patient safety and clinical outcomes in the UK and internationally.
Since joining First DataBank, the company has grown rapidly from a team of 33 to the current cohort of 66 whilst the customer base has more than doubled. Darren first joined First DataBank in 1999 as Management Accountant and was quickly appointed to Head of Business and Finance the following year. In 2005 he became Finance Director, then in 2008 he was appointed to the role of Managing Director.

Finance Director
Rob is responsible for the financial controls and financial reporting for the UK and international operations, outside of the US and Canada. In addition to his financial duties, Rob also holds responsibility for all contractual obligations, the human resources function, IT support services and the project management function of the company. Rob joined First DataBank in May 2008 from the UK Met Office, where he was responsible for the finances of its revenue generating business units. Rob is a chartered accountant with over 15 years' commercial experience.

Clinical Director
Neill is a general practitioner with over 20 years' experience in healthcare informatics, and before joining First DataBank in 2009 held the position of Clinical Lead for BT London Information Systems. Prior to BT, Neill held senior positions at Accenture LSP and Sowerby Centre for Health Informatics (SCHIN) at Newcastle University. He was also heavily involved in the design and early development of dm+d and ETP. Neill is responsible for leading First DataBank’s knowledge base services team.

Product and Marketing Director
Mark has extensive healthcare IT experience gained over 25 years and joined First DataBank's management team in December 2009. Previously Mark was a senior member of Microsoft‘s UK and Global Health teams, and worked for the DH, NHS Information Authority leading much of the early computerisation and integration programmes connecting the NHS. Mark is an elected member of the IT industry’s trade association – Intellect - and is vice-president on its Health Council. Mark also maintains a lively Twitter account looking at industry issues and debating the hot topics at http://twitter.com/#!/MTonHealth

Our Sales and Customer Services team presents both existing and prospective customers with details of our products and the solutions that we offer.
The team develops and maintains first class relationships with our customers and prospects to ensure that the products we supply are best suited to their needs. The team conduct regular account review meetings with all our customers to ensure the most effective implementation of our products, as well as providing day to day technical and commercial support.

Our Product and Marketing teams work closely together to manage the full lifecycle of First DataBank’s product portfolio.
The Marketing team is responsible for future business development and implementing the marketing strategy for both our domestic and international markets. The team also oversees product launches as well as our communications – public relations, events, sponsorship and advertising.
The Product Management team is responsible for the full suite of First DataBank’s products, overseeing the development of any new clinical functionality in existing products and a healthy new product pipeline.
Our Product Development team consists of physicians, pharmacists and analysts and is primarily responsible for ensuring we anticipate market need, developing clear business cases for investment in new products to ensure we continue to meet our customers’ requirements.

Our Knowledge Base Services team consists of a team of pharmacists and clinical researchers who are responsible for the day to day maintenance of First DataBank’s clinical data.
The team ensures all newly marketed drugs and prescribable appliances are added to the database as they are launched and that the clinical information on established drugs is regularly updated to reflect the evidence available on their indication, safety in other conditions, adverse effects and drug-drug interactions.
The team also maintains information to facilitate the reimbursement of prescriptions together with the links to external data sources.

Our Software Development team consists of specialist developers and testers who support both our internal systems and the software products available to our customers.
Our internal systems are used by the content team to author the clinical data and publish it on a monthly basis; the software products available to our customers are used to display this data and/or integrate it within their own medical software applications. Our products cover a variety of technology platforms and display/integration options.
