First DataBank Europe (FDBE) is the only clinical decision support provider to be used extensively across a wide variety of healthcare sectors. First established in primary care over 25 years ago, FDBE has developed its products to suit the needs of other healthcare sectors such as secondary care, community pharmacy, out-of-hours, mental health, community, social care and private healthcare organisations, to name a few. By working across so many healthcare sectors, FDBE has gained a unique insight and understanding of current healthcare issues. We also have specific domain knowledge in the field of drug and clinical terminology standardisation to facilitate interoperability and a joined-up electronic healthcare system.

Patient safety is the top priority within healthcare. Between April 2007 and March 2008, a total of 70,178 (9%) patient safety incidents reported to the National Patient Safety Agency (NPSA) National Reporting and Learning System (NRLS) were due to medication errors. FDBE is chosen by system suppliers and clinicians alike for the major role we play in enabling safer prescribing, dispensing and administration, thereby helping to reduce medication errors.
