Clinical system suppliers
FDBE works with an impressive portfolio of leading clinical system suppliers to integrate our products into their clinical systems. We then work in partnership with these system suppliers on the ongoing development of their applications as they take advantage of FDBE’s new functionality.
Our case studies provide a variety of examples of the strong development partnership we have with our customers across the healthcare sector and illustrate how our products successfully deliver lasting benefits to clinicians and patients.
Hospitals
Working directly with NHS acute hospital trusts as well as the private hospital sector, FDBE’s products support a number of medicine management functions such as formulary management, transcribing of medications and electronic discharge summaries.
National healthcare agencies
FDBE frequently acts in an advisory or consultancy capacity to national healthcare agencies across the UK.
FDBE has been working in close collaboration with NHS Connecting for Health (NHS CfH) for the National Programme for IT in England since 2003 and was chosen to provide drug-related clinical decision support for the National Programme.
FDBE is recognised as one of the foremost authorities in drug and clinical terminologies such as the NHS Dictionary of Medicines and Devices (dm+d) and the Systematised Nomenclature of Medicine Clinical Terms (SNOMED CT). FDBE was chosen by NHS CfH to author the dm+d Implementation Guide for the National Programme and has developed its clinical decision support to incorporate these standard terminologies.
The NHS in Scotland is working in close collaboration with FDBE on the development of a specification for the Scottish Enhanced Functionality (SEF). The SEF process is the mechanism for delivering controlled system enhancements to the GP Clinical Systems embracing the health needs of Scotland.
In Wales, FDBE is working closely with the Informing Healthcare (IHC) Programme to facilitate the integration and interoperability of medicines information and clinical decision support across Wales.
Industry bodies
In order to stay abreast of and ensure we are involved in emerging patient safety initiatives around e-prescribing, FDBE has a strong relationship with industry bodies and professional associations such as the National Patient Safety Agency (NPSA), the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) and the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE).
FDBE is also a member of Intellect, which represents the UK technology industry and the British Computer Society (BCS) Primary Healthcare Specialist Group.
Through these key strategic partnerships FDBE actively influences the wider healthcare agenda and continues to be regarded as one of the UK’s foremost authorities in medicines information and clinical decision support.
